For the most part, when we read textbooks or try to figure out the jargon associated with nutrition, it tends to confuse or even alienate us. It certainly did that to me in the beginning when I tried to make sense of it all. And what a shame that was, because to be able to understand how to maintain a healthy body and a healthy mind is so importantly basic to each and every one of us.
I remember when I was growing up in the 1940s my parents got into a new thing for them called smoking. By the 50s and 60s the whole country was obsessed. Even the physicians did ads touting the safety of smoking.
But there were activists and protesters that said smoking was harmful and they were laughed at, demeaned, and called disrespectful, all because they were against it.
But all the “respectful” people like the politicians, the tobacco companies, and all the “hip” people blasted them saying, “it was safe”, or “no tests found any negative effects.”
Sounds familiar doesn’t it? Only this time smoking has become GMOs.
What would you do if you learned there was a concerted effort to keep you sick? And what would you do if you learned that the way they could do that was by the food that you ate? Would that upset you? Well, be prepared.
Recently, I offered 2 articles written by reporters about the opioid epidemic involving America. Well, here’s part 3 written by a “hooker’, Dr. Marty Makary, who is a professor of surgery and health policy at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in Baltimore and an adviser to Practicing Wisely. The article again appeared in the Asbury Park Press on Sunday, August 6, 2017.
I tried to read the Obamacare bill so many times but its endless rhetoric is frustrating. The GOP bill is just as bad. Why can’t any politician think like a normal person? Because it is too difficult for them to be normal.
An amazing article appeared in the Asbury Park Press newspaper on July 14, 2017 written by Kevin Johnson of USA TODAY that exposes the corruption and fraud exhibited by the medical profession regarding prescriptions of opioid drugs. I could not say it any better than he did.
How hard is it to go to a food store, conventional or alleged “health” and buy clean, pure food? Well, it’s harder than you think.
We know that the supermarkets sell pesticide/herbicide-laden foods that can be washed. They are called vegetables.
We also know that the supermarkets and some “health” food stores sell animal flesh.
If it’s non-organic it contains bovine growth hormones, antibiotics, doo-doo, radiation and a host of other toxins and poisons like stink reducers, color enhancers, GMOs and the remains of the other dead animals not fit for sale. If it’s alleged “range-fed” maybe a lot of the crap is not there, but there is one thing that is always there: Raging fear hormones.
We go through life encountering all sorts of obstacles, challenges, and endless attempts at recognition.
We have relatives, be it siblings or whatever, that get recognition and attention but for some reason it never comes our way.
So, because of our quest for attention, sympathy, or gossip about us, we strive for something that many people get and what many people do not get.
The one thing that comes up that we know for sure people will talk about is getting a heart attack.
