On August 7, 2010, Professor Andreas Carrasco, a scientist and doctor from the Buenos Aires University Medical School, was to give a presentation, at a local school in La Leonessa in Argentina, on the adverse effects of exposure to Monsanto’s glyphosate.
A delegation of two provincial deputies, a former public official, members of a neighboring community and a host of community activists were en route to hear the talk that never took place.
A group of about 100 workers of a local rice-producer, prompted by the rice-producer and his security guards, and instigated by the biotech industry, intercepted the vehicles en route and attacked them seriously injuring many.
What could have been behind all of ths?
Could it have been the fact that Dr. Carrasco was going to reveal the insidious detriments to being exposed to the glyphosate that proliferates Monsanto’s Roundup Ready herbicide?
Glyphosate was patented by Monsanto in the 1970’s well before GMO was commercialized as a so-called broad-spectrum weed killer.
In addition to the glyphosate, Roundup also contains non-disclosed added chemicals that Monsanto refuses to divulge for “trade secret” reasons.
As of 2014, 92% of all US soybean fields were plagued with glyphosate-resistant varieties of GMO soybeans and sprayed with Roundup.
The problem with this sweet arrangement and what Dr. Carrasco was to reveal, is that glyphosate has been linked to birth defects and now, in 2015, we are being made aware of the glyphosate/autism link.
Despite this then and now, the EPA (Environmental Pollution Agency) continues to regard Roundup as “relatively low in toxicity and without carcinogenic or teratogenic effects.”
And why do they do this? Because they rely on the test data from Monsanto and the agribusiness industry to make their safety rulings, under the 1992 doctrine of Substantial Equivalence, which asserts that GMO seeds are “substantially equivalent” to ordinary seeds and thereby need no independent health or safety tests.
In 2002, widespread reports of malformations in humans began to be reported in Argentina, which was two years after widespread aerial spraying of Roundup and the planting of Roundup Ready soybeans was begun.
Even today, Monsanto reigns supreme. They pay off everyone and anyone that could have an influence in curtailing what they do. And our government agencies and the Supreme Court are infused with former Monsanto employees, executives and lawyers.
What’s gonna be worse is that our next President-to-be, the wife of the guy that kept Monika Lewinsky under his desk to keep him happy while he sat there, used to work for a Monsanto law firm.
There is one and only one solution- read labels and reject the products that contain GMOs. Bankruptcy gets people attention. Trust me.
What’s worse is that everyone has to become a vegan or a vegetarian that consumes only certified organic dairy products because almost 90% of all GMO soybeans and over 75% of all GMO corn is fed to anything that had a face or a mother and all conventional dairy contains GM growth hormones to make the animal gain more weight to bring in more money or to produce more milk.
And why was none of the above ever made known through the mainstream media?
