There was a recent article in Natural News that exposed unbelievable Bayer/Monsatan devious nightmares that they have to pay incredible fines. That being said, I would like to put the Bayer/Monsatan fraud in its proper perspective.
I remember when I was growing up in the 1940s my parents got into a new thing for them called smoking. By the 50s and 60s the whole country was obsessed. Even the physicians did ads touting the safety of smoking.
But there were activists and protesters that said smoking was harmful and they were laughed at, demeaned, and called disrespectful, all because they were against it.
But all the “respectful” people like the politicians, the tobacco companies, and all the “hip” people blasted them saying, “it was safe”, or “no tests found any negative effects.”
Sounds familiar doesn’t it? Only this time smoking has become like GMOs.
Instead of tobacco companies, we have the biotech companies like Bayer/Monsatan, Pioneer, DuPont, Syngenta, etc. saying all the same things about GMOs that were said about smoking. The only difference is they all rally behind the “we want to feed the world” propaganda.
In Hawaii, when a labeling bill gets defeated, the biotech hookers give credit to our politicians for utilizing common sense when defeating a bill. They further say that it makes common sense to make the decision to “study” the potential consequences before passing legislation that could increase our grocery bills, boost our taxes, and violate the Constitution.
What’s funny is that when the genetically modified Rainbow papayas were shipped to Japan, they must be labeled. Interestingly enough, prices rose insignificantly.
Then they rant about how the politicians are acting responsible and prudent in their decision making and seeing the importance of the issue of the safety and availability of our food supply, using, if you’ll pardon the expression, “reliable information to understand a bill’s implications is the responsible way of achieving good policy and protecting everyone.”
They, however, never talk about paying off the politicians so they will not bite the hand that feeds them.
Say a politician is in office for ten years and receives $500 every two years, when they re-run for office, from the above mentioned corporate lobbyists. That $2,500 every 2 years equates to $12,500 over 10 years. Now, multiply that by 20 or so politicians. So much for a government of, for, and by the people.
They never say that the potential consequences of passing a labeling bill will only interfere with their profits and that the “reliable information” about GMOs only comes from the biotech industry. All others are ignored even if the studies prove it’s disastrous to one’s health.
They say that mandatory labeling creates the false impression that there are differences in our food where none exists.
So what if a seed is created in a laboratory and is only good for one planting?
So what if foreign genes are forced into a plant’s DNA and those inserted genes come from bacteria and viruses that have never been in the human food supply?
So what if the biotech industry hides the toxic effects of their chemical products?
So what if the FDA scientists affirmed that genetic engineering transfers genes across natural species barriers, using imprecise laboratory techniques that are outdated as to how genes and cells work and absolutely bear no resemblance to natural breeding?
They say that the federal government requires labeling of any food if there is a health concern, but there are none regarding GMOs.
I wonder if all the heads of the FDA, USDA, EPA, and the US Dept. of Agriculture has anything to do with that, as well as Supreme Court Justices Thomas and Kagen, who worked for Monsanto’s law firm as did Hillary Clinton?
They say that no one has gotten ill from GMOs, but how does one tell if GMOs are hidden and not disclosed. A friend of mine that recently lost a political seat and tried an experiment after he lost. For three months he ate nothing but GMOs. He gained 40 pounds. Imagine that!
They say that spraying enormous quantities of toxic pesticides and insecticides on crops by people wearing HAZMAT uniforms will have no adverse health ramifications on those that eat them or on the land that they continually poison. Do you really believe that?
Regarding not getting ill from GM crops, then why are they swimming in that big river in Egypt about the links to thousands of toxic and allergic reactions and thousands of sick, sterile, and dead livestock, and damage to virtually every organ and system studied in lab animals?
Why did soy allergies skyrocket by 50% in the UK, soon after soy was introduced?
Why did hundreds of laborers in India report allergic reactions just from handling Bt (Bt is a gene inserted into cotton and corn DNA, where it secretes the insect-killing Bt-toxin in every cell) cotton and their symptoms identical to those exposed to Bt spray?
Why did sheep graze on Bt cotton and within a week 1 in 4 die? Why did about 24 US farmers report that Bt corn caused widespread sterility in pigs and cows?
Why did the stomach lining of rats fed GM potatoes show excessive cell growth that was a precursor condition to cancer?
And why, unlike the safety evaluations for drugs, were there no human clinical trials prior to the introduction of GM foods, despite experiments verifying that genetic material inserted into GM soy transfers into the DNA of intestinal bacteria and continues to function long after we stop eating GM foods creating GM proteins that live continuously inside us?
About 19 percent of GM crops produce their own pesticide, where another 13 percent produce a pesticide and are herbicide and pesticide tolerant.
They say they support Whole Foods labeling agenda. What they did not say was that the natural foods market makes up a small percentage of the buying public. And as long as the conventional supermarkets do not label GMOs, their profits will not suffer greatly.
I could go on and on but by now I think you get the point and see the deception.
Think about all the cases of cancer, emphysema, and birth defects that arose years after smoking was deemed safe. Well, here we are with the new tobacco, GMOs.
If GM foods on the market are causing common diseases or if their effects appear only after long-term exposure, like tobacco we will not be able to identify the source of the problem for decades, if at all. There is no monitoring of GMO-related problems and no long-term animal studies. Why? Because the biotech corporations are gambling away the health of our world for profit.
So, where do you come in? First you must understand that the primary reason these companies genetically engineer plants is to make them tolerant to their brand of herbicides and pesticides. The four major GM plants, soy, corn, canola (even so-called organic, which is the worst of the worst), and cotton, as well as sugar beets and alfalfa are designed to survive an otherwise deadly dose of weed killer.
Once that is understood, you must never buy anything containing soy, corn, canola, and cotton if it does not say organic or non-GMO. If the sugar ingredient says cane sugar it is safe. If it just says sugar, you could be in deep doo-doo.
It’s better to spend a bit more now and stay healthy rather than ignore what you buy and have to pay lots more on medical and hospital bills later.
So, it is up to each and every one of us to pressure government, be it local or federal, to label GMOs. We may lose battles but ultimately we must win the war. Future generations depend upon this.
The good news: the organic sulfur crystals detox heavy metals, mercury, parasites, fluoride and toxins out of the body. There is hope after all.
Oh yeah, the “they said” came from Fred Perlak, Monsanto’s vice president of research and business operations in Hawaii. I guess they laugh all the way to the bank!
Aloha!
